I am guilty of making excuses for people 🙋🏼♀️ Someone shows their true colors and instead of saying “𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕪𝕠𝕦, 𝕠𝕙 𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥 𝕦𝕟𝕚𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕖, 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕞𝕪 𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕘𝕪 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕞𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕪 𝕒𝕣𝕖 “we seem to create a version of the story in our head that allows that person to become someone else. Someone who they really aren’t.
Why?
Because it’s hard for us to believe that anyone has different motives than us. It’s hard to believe that someone would actually 𝐻𝓊𝓇𝓉 𝓊𝓈 and just not care. It’s hard to understand that not everyone has the same heart as us. So instead of calling a spade a spade we dress it up all pretty in pink and pretend like it’s good for us.
I’m learning to let go. Let go of friendships, let go of hopes and let go of things that don’t serve me anymore. If it doesn’t make me feel good, it’s gone. No hard feelings, no hate, just a simple understanding that we are protected in ways that we need to start paying attention to. One of these ways is this....If they show you who they are, believe them and then run.
