Comfort Zones...let’s talk about these tricky little dream suckers for a moment, shall we?
A comfort zone is a 𝓛𝓲𝓪𝓻. It keeps us in it’s grip and tells us that we are safe. It swaddles us up like a cocoon and lulls us to sleep.
Sorry to interrupt your cozy nap but
𝒲𝑒 𝒹𝑜𝓃’𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝒶𝓈𝓁𝑒𝑒𝓅!!!
We want to be 𝓐𝔀𝓪𝓴𝓮! Awake to the possibilities that are at our fingertips!!
You see, comfort zones trick us into believing that old habits are good for us because we think they make us feel good but the truth is, we are not moving forward when we are stuck in a comfort zone so in the long run it doesn’t make us feel good at all. It just makes us feel stuck.
Now, I’ll be the first to tell you that leaving that comfort zone can be terrifying...but if you have heard me speak then you know that I also believe that if something scares you then it’s probably the right decision. Easy decisions are easy to make. Easy doesn’t equal results. Easy keeps you right where you are. Hard decisions are hard to make. Hard equals results. Hard work & hard choices...well, they push you forward.
I found myself in a comfort zone lately. Plenty of excuses to wait. Plenty of excuses to stay comfortable during an extremely 𝒰𝓃𝒸𝑜𝓂𝒻𝑜𝓇𝓉𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒 time.
I felt good in my cocoon. I felt good eating pasta and watching the Food network. It just felt good. For a moment....
Then about half way through 30 min meals when they come out of the break and show her production staff of 10, I start wondering how Rachael Ray has built an empire. According to Wikipedia, Rachael Domenica Scuderi Ray is an American television personality, businesswoman, celebrity cook and author. She hosts the syndicated daily talk and lifestyle program Rachael Ray, and the Food Network series 30 Minute Meals...and then I remember that
𝓘 𝔀𝓪𝓷𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽
No, I don’t want to be a celebrity cook but I want access to a platform THAT huge to be able to change lives. I want to bring women out of the darkness and into their bright beautiful light and guess what...it ain’t gonna happen on my couch, eating pasta under my favorite blanket, in my comfort zone.
What do YOU want? What do you dream about? Pray for? Think about non stop?
