I don’t have a college degree.
I went to college. Twice actually. I put in a ton of money and time before realizing it wasn’t the right path for me. During that time I figured out ways to use my cosmetology license to create businesses and have used it in many different ways over the years. I have gone from a girl figuring out how to cut hair to a business woman.
However, sometimes I still stumble over that hump of just not feeling “smart” enough.
Darn it!! How can this happen when I blog, coach and write about things like “being good enough” or “smart and educated are two different things” 🤦🏽♀️
I woke up 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓇𝒾𝑒𝒹 in the middle of the night. I’m taking on a new journey and I felt a little, well, honestly I felt a little behind the game. I felt like I am missing something. A key piece that helps me understand what makes other people succeed. Why is this so hard? Am I smart enough for this?
These are just some of the questions I was asking myself as the clock struck 4 💤
Here’s the deal. It’s super dark at 4 a.m. I mean literally and figuratively. My mind races and thinks and worries at 4 a.m. but once the sun comes up and things seem a little clearer, I start to remember that the only obstacle in my way is 𝑀𝐸
The 𝓞𝓷𝓵𝔂 thing we need to succeed is to believe that we will (and then get to work and don’t stop) The 𝓞𝓷𝓵𝔂 prerequisite for success is that you get out of your own way. Self confidence, self love, self care, self awareness are your core classes. There are also some classes that are going to be tougher- like failure 101 and how to have drive when all you want to do is give up.
These are the lessons required. This is your training. Every single one of us can earn this if we put the work in.
I believe in you. I believe in me. I also know that it’s not always easy to believe that you can accomplish something. It’s not always easy to believe that we are smart enough or educated enough but I’m here to ask you to get out of your own way. As soon as you do that you will be unstoppable!!
I never want to stop learning. I read constantly. I watch others and learn from them and I’m not afraid to ask for help. This wasn’t always the case- there was a time when I thought I knew it all but then I started to realize that there is something SO gratifying about learning from someone who’s been there. Be open to that friends. Be ok with knowing that you don’t know. It doesn’t make you “not smart enough” it makes you “smart enough” to know when to ask for help.
Success is out there waiting for you. It is right outside of your door, knocking softly. I can help you get there if you let me. Let’s open the door together and walk into that journey hand in hand!
(Contact me if you want to know more about how I am helping others do this exact thing right now)
Have a great day friends- be well and move over- you’ll love what’s on the other side of you!
