Normalizing Normal

I haven’t had my nails done since before quarantine 💅

I have been doing my own with cheap quick dry polish (because I have zero patience) oh.,. also can’t find our nail polish remover so this has been my norm.

The other day someone asked me how I always look so put together and it made me giggle because I am the most “thrown” together person that I know...but then I got to thinking- I want to share 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 REAL stuff with ya’ll because one of my missions is to break the completely ridiculous standards that we are holding ourselves up against because of social media.

I want you to know that you can be smashing your goals, roping in your dreams + be super duper successful and still have chipped nail polish.

Don’t you dare compare yourself to that Instagram Mom of 7 who just popped out #8 and is taking side selfies in the hospital bathroom in her post birth mesh undies & still manages to look like a supermodel. 🛑 (sound buzzer here....) NOT REALITY. It’s just not. She’s posed, she’s placed. This isn’t what she realllly looks like. The ironic part is that it seems as if all of these influencers wants us to leave their page feeling motivated and inspired but if you’re anything like me, I leave their page feeling defeated because it feels like what they have is unattainable...

So here I am, posting pictures of my really crappy homemade grown out mani to tell you that we are breaking that unattainability bull shit right now! Normalizing normal is my game. I want you all to know that smoke and mirrors are just that...and beyond the filter is a normal, non manicured woman just like us.

Yes- I wear makeup and get all glammy and have photo shoots because it’s just part of what we do and I’m not telling you to NOT get glammy...I’m just telling you that if you’re feeling less than because of someone’s life that seems perfect- hear me now- it’s not.

Everybody has chipped nail polish once in a while. Even Beyoncé.

You are normal and beautiful... all chipped up or not 💫
