Not All That Glitters Is Gold

I want to dissolve the idea that pretty little perfectly manicured social media pages make someone decent. I want to turn off the smoke machine and clear the room for all to see what’s left when the lights go up.

I want to stop šŸ›‘ comparing my success to someone else’s success and then feeling defeated just because they have more followers, fancier filters and a masters degree in the art of illusion... and I want you to stop that too.

I want us all to begin leaning in and showing up for real life and remembering that who you are is what makes you gold. Treating others with the respect, love and compassion is what makes you gold. Patience in a tired and terrified world is what makes you gold. Knowing that you can change someone’s life just by showing up and then showing up- that makes you gold.

Remember, even the hook that carries the bait to the fish glistens. Don’t bite on everything you see and allow it to let you feel less than because love,
