Patience
I woke up this morning a little frustrated 😖
I was under the impression that the book would be here by today and I just found out it will be another 10 days before it ships... but then I remembered that there is work happening that I don’t know about. There is binding and printing and packaging and shipping to be done. There are people...real people who are doing work as fast as they can and everything is behind because of the pandemic so the only thing I should be doing is showing some patience. Just because I can’t see the work being done doesn’t mean that there isn’t progress being made!
My friend Rebecca from After All This Time boutique and I had a heartfelt convo yesterday about things feeling like they are moving slooowwwww but when we look back you can see how far you’ve come.
Progress.Is.happening friends.
I like to look at life like cake 🎂
(I love cake but not as much as pie and pie just doesn’t work for this analogy...so cake it is)
When you see a beautiful cake in a bakery you see the final product. No one snapped their fingers and said “Let there be cake”... nope...it was a progression. Mix ingredients ➡️Prep pan ➡️ put in oven ➡️ wait wait wait➡️ cool ➡️wait wait wait some more ➡️ frost➡️ eat... and that’s not even ALL of the steps (should we chat about milling the flour??)
So many things happening behind the scenes. So many steps. So many transitions before you actually have cake....Just like our lives.
So today, I ask you to find some patience and trust that everything is as it should be. God’s speed is nothing like our time and once we can let go a little and stop worrying or in my case, obsessing over something (when the book will arrive) then we can actually take a breath and trust that all is as it should be and the work is being done.
