Stay In Control

I might have panicked a little late in the afternoon yesterday. It seems like the mornings are ok and by the afternoon I’ve been so transfixed by the news and social media that my chest tightens up and I start pacing.

Those of you who follow me know that I have struggled with anxiety and that I’ve been able to overcome most of it with physical activity. What you might not know is that my anxiety is health driven. It’s become a joke when we travel that I need to know how far we are from a hospital or fire station. The thought of not being able to get proper health care is the root of my anxiety, so you can imagine how I’m feeling about these times we are facing and along with not having my regular workout routine it’s a double whammy.

Yesterday afternoon brought a lot of “What If’s” as I paced. Finally, Terry, my husband, who is a calm anchor, said to me “Honey, control what you can”.

So for anyone who is dealing with the anxiety of this situation, I wanted to share this with you.

Let the rest go.

Let’s weigh in and help others- what are some things that are still in our control?

I’ll start-

I’m still in control of the climate of my home. I’m in control of what kind of environment we have within these walls and I’m striving for a peaceful, healthy space for all of us. We are juicing, de-cluttering, mediating and laughing.
